About This Course

This training has been designed based on our more than two years of experience running trainings for nannies all over the world as well as our own experience of working as an Au Pair and Babysitter.

We want to help you to feel fully confident that your child is happy, creative and exploring new skills when staying with your Au Pair or Babysitter.

The training course will help babysitters to:
  • Better understand the importance of play and how to best stimulate children from early on.
  • Have a set of simple, yet engaging activities at hand that foster fine- and gross motor skills, creativity, and early literacy.
  • Gain confidence to use a positive educative approach to handle tantrums, sibling fighting and sleeping and eating routines.
  • Provide a safe environment in which children can grow towards greater independence.

What your babysitter will learn

The training is strongly oriented towards practice and active learning in the daily work as a Babysitter or Au Pair.

The training covers the most important topics in the field of playful learning, child development and positive education.

The training is based on Montessori pedagogy, because we are convinced that this approach best prepares children for an increasingly complex world.

After the successful completion of the course and the final Quizz you get a Certificate of Participation.

Practical Learning

The training engages babysitters in hands-on learning and the concrete implementation of activities in their work with children. With the content being available on our learning platform, they can go back to it as many times as needed when working as an Au Pair or Babysitter.

Learning at individual pace with personal support

A mix of training videos, workbooks, concrete tasks to implement each week help to stay on track. The training can be done in parallel to work whenever there is time. Our learning group provides participants with the possibility to exchange with others and to ask questions. The group is accessible for one year.

Activity Toolbox

As part of the training babysitters get access to an activity toolbox with a wide arrange of activities for children between 0 and 6 years old. In view of sustainability and the feasibility of all activities in different contexts of each country, all the activities taught can be done with natural and recycled materials available around the home.

When I was 19 years old, I went for one year to Paris to work as an Au Pair. Although I had already lots of experience working as a Babysitter, this experience was of a whole different kind. I loved every day of it and am still in contact with my host family.

Today I am a mother of three children between 0 and 9 years old and a Montessori education and development expert. I am supporting families and nannies to easily bring playful learning ideas into their homes.

Yes, absolutely. The course is perfect if you are planning to work as an au pair or babysitter, or if you aspire to further professionalize as a caregiver for children.

You can do the course at your pace and upon successful completion we will send you a personalized certificate of participation.

Yes, it is. This training is a self-paced learning programme that can be done wherever you are based and at the participant’s pace. The course happens on an online learning platform.

We currently offer the training only in English. If you are interested to do the training in French or German, please reach out and we will see how we can best support you. 

Yes, upon the completion of the course and the final quiz, your babysitter will receive a soft copy of a certificate of participation.

The course includes a module on safety and hygiene. However, this is not a first aid training. We recommend your babysitter to get a separate first aid training, for example through your local Red Cross.
