The training is very practical and can be done in parallel with your nanny´s work.
This 4-week blended course combines theory, practice, and reflection. And the best – your nanny will learn directly in your work environment and start creating new activities with your child.
Your nanny will learn: The Montessori approach to child development and how children learn through their senses. How to observe children to understand their interests and needs. How to set up simple sensory and transfer activities using recycled or natural materials (pouring, scooping, sorting). How to introduce one activity at a time and support concentration. How to adapt play to different developmental stages.
Practice: Present and guide sensory play and transfer activities.
Your nanny will learn: How to foster independence through daily routines like dressing, cleaning, and preparing snacks. Practical life skills that build self-confidence and responsibility. How to plan play activities that develop fine-motor skills How to support early language, math, and problem-solving skills through daily play. How to create a safe, inviting, and organized play space that encourages exploration.
Practice: Create a gross-motor skills activity and analyze your play space setup.
Nannies will learn: How to encourage self-expression through music, art, and movement. How to use songs, rhymes, and storytelling to support language development. How to set up creative arts and crafts activities adapted to young children. How to observe, document, and celebrate children’s progress.
Practice: Lead a short language, music, or arts activity with children.
Your nanny will learn: How to set healthy boundaries while maintaining warm, trusting relationships. How to manage difficult behaviors calmly and respectfully. How to communicate clearly with parents and work as part of a family team. How to reflect on your professional growth and plan your next learning steps.
Practice: Role play real-life nanny situations, complete a quiz, and present your Montessori-inspired activity setup.
This course is designed for busy nannies – flexible, practical, and deeply hands-on.

After completing the Montessori Nanny Training herself, Fiona experienced a true shift in how she approaches childcare. She now integrates Montessori principles into her daily practice. As such she is supporting each child’s unique path, encouraging independence, and fostering self-belief through meaningful play and gentle guidance.
Fiona will lead the onsite training sessions, working closely with Maria, who will provide ongoing coaching and facilitate the virtual training component.
The course will be done in Kinyarwanda. Some of the materials are also in English. If you only understand English or French, please reach out and we will adapt the course for you.
Yes, upon the completion of the course and the weekly quiz, all participants receive a soft copy of a certificate of participation.
We prefer sending the materials via WhatsApp. But in case your nanny does not have a smartphone, we can also print the materials and follow-up by calls.
Yes, absolutely. We have run the course successfully with a group where half of the Nannies were unable to read and write. All materials are available via audio and video format. Taking the course in the group format also helps with accessibility.
Yes, if the training is taking place during your work hours, younger children can attend the training. We make sure to include them in the practical activities to make it more fun for everyone.
The training has been designed to fit the busy schedule of many nannies and families. It can easily be done in parallel to work. Including the training sessions, we anticipate a time commitment of 2-4 hours a week. Most practical activities can be done together with the children during your work hours.
