Words Of Thanks

This excellent course gave my nanny the tools, inspiration and encouragement to introduce new activities, arts and crafts with my 2.5 year old. The activities didn’t rely on specialized materials or equipment that might be hard to find locally. The course empowered my nanny to have confidence in both herself and in our child’s ability to participate in such activities, even at his age.

I highly recommend Maria´s parent course. It was eye-opening for me. I completely underestimated how much my daughter is already able to understand. The course has given me the tools to better communicate with her. Especially the "positive parenting techniques" were very interesting. I most liked that the group coaching allowed to share my actual experience and to discuss it with other parents.

Hello, I am Maria

Learning with ease and fun and growing up with multiple languages does not have to be hard work.

As a mother of 3 kids and a Montessori education and development expert, I am supporting families all around the world to raise happy learners and curious minds.

Having lived as a family over ten years in Africa and Asia I know exactly how challenging it can be to get access to high quality educational activities.

Luckily, you do not need much to make learning fun away from screens and to spend memorable moments together discovering the world. As a busy mom of three, I love simple, easy-to-do activities.

With my step-by-step play-based learning method, I am showing you how you can support your child’s development and their love for learning and how we use play for a tri-lingual education only using recycled materials we have around our home.

If we can do it with limited time and resources, you can easily do it, too.

My Approach

Montessori play-based learning

I strongly believe that hands-on learning through all senses and a positive education approach are the best foundation for a child's learning journey.

Natural and Recycled Materials

We make play-based learning accessible in all contexts. We use what is locally available. This is also more sustainable and cost-effective.

Action-Oriented

I am convinced that to learn, you need to practice. All my trainings and workshops have a strong implementation focus to get started with play-based learning right away.

Empowering

My coaching and training approach is always context-specific and enables participants to take charge of their own learning process. Step-by-step and with clear guidance.

The story behind Abracadabra Creative Learning

The idea for Abracadabra Creative Learning was born in a small village near Lalibela in Northern Ethiopia in 2019. Many children in developing countries lack access to school and often only spend a couple of years in primary school. Learning basic language and numeracy skills therefore needs to be even more effective than in regular Western schools.

The aim of Abracadabra Creative Learning therefore is to make playful learning methods available where they are most needed.

This is why my small team trains pro-bono teachers and educators in the Global South how to use play and local materials to prepare children for school and to teach foundational math and literacy in a playful way.

All of Abracadabra Creative Learning’s benefits are invested to increase our impact, where it is most needed.
